Want to upgrade your paleo low carb diet for more vibrant health?
The low carb diet works great for toxic mold syndrome but there is a diet upgrade that works even better.
And that is the Alkaline Diet. It's still low carb with a twist.
I am becoming more and more convinced of the importance of eating an alkaline diet, when recovering from toxic mold.
When your body is overloaded with mycotoxins, which are the toxins on the mold spores that you breathed in, your body becomes very acidic. I have seen ph levels on people that have toxic mold syndrome, and they are usually very low, meaning acidic.
I have also experienced first hand, the benefits of eating an alkaline diet, after I was mold poisoned.
When I was sick with toxic mold syndrome, the foods that made me feel better were mostly raw food; raw greens especially seem to bring me back to life.
I did not eat a completely alkaline diet, as I did need to get some animal protein in. But, I found that on days that I was "good" I was eating more alkaline.

What are alkaline foods?
Basically, any fresh fruits and vegetables that are raw, meaning never heated or processed into canned or bottled juice or never canned vegetables; just fruits and veggies found in the produce aisle.
Alkaline foods make your body more alkaline.
Alkaline is good for your body because when you are more alkaline your body does not have to work so hard to keep things in balance.
It's like giving your body a huge break!
Meats, fish, eggs, grains, breads, roasted nuts and seeds, beans, cooked vegetables and cooked fruits or bottled juices are all acidic foods. There, of course, are varying degrees of acidity in these foods. In other words, some foods are more acidic than others.
Acidic foods make your body more acidic. An acidic body is bad because it causes inflammation and your body has to work harder to keep things in balance.
I think, if a mostly alkaline diet is followed with the addition of a small amount of animal protein, the body can heal itself from a lot of ailments, including detoxing from toxic mold!
The alkaline diet is a step up from the low carb modified paleo diet in that you will naturally be low carb on the alkaline diet but will have more raw food than a typical paleo diet may have.
